Echoes of her voice

Eva Cassidy was a young American women who died at the tender age of 33 from cancer. She was a singer who's voice silenced rooms and left people awe struck, yet she died in total obscurity.

Several years later her music was released posthumosly and various songs went to number 1 on pop music charts around the world. The echos of her voice can now only be heard in these few amateur recordings left behind.

What speaks to me is that the eternality of the human spirit and soul can be captured in works of art we leave behind. We often hold back from sharing ourselves with the world and we miss the opportunity to leave behind precious gifts.

God has given each of us unique gifts. We must never hold back from using them and sharing them with others. So what if we don't become wealthy from our labours in our life time, what matters is that we give these gifts to God to use as he wills.

In memory of Eva Cassidy.
