May Day

Google May day and you'll be surprised at the response.  In America the day is celebrated to commemorate the Haymarket massacre in Chicago in 1886, however throughout the world there are different reasons that each of the 80+ countries celebrate the day.

Workers rights have been fought for centuries on many different platforms but if you think of it what people are really saying is, "I am a human being and I deserve to be treated with dignity and respect."  We all long to be validated and feel that we are valued.

The most powerful response we see to this cry in scripture is seen in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!"  In God we are validated, valued, loved and respected.  We must learn to find our sole identity in Christ!
