I love to pop my cats up on a chair and tickle them under the chin. When I do they close their eyes and lift their chins up for more tickles. I usually grab the opportunity to kiss them on the nose and say, "I looove you!" they don't like being kissed but purr away happily.
I felt God tug at my heart the other day saying, "When you close your eyes and lift your face towards heaven to worship me, that's when I can bow down and kiss YOUR face and say I looooove you!"
God desires our worship, not because he wants to feel important. He desires our worship because that's when he can draw close and allow us to experience his presence and his love for us.
