It's always bitter sweet spending time
with friends that live in a different city to yourself, especially if
there is an ocean between you. Bridget and I went to Clear Water
Mall for breakfast and then did some shopping. There were times I
was feeling guilty that we weren't “doing something special”.
It didn't take long to realize that
just doing anything together was really special. I also know now more
than ever that no ocean or continent can separate true friendship.
Aren't those words echoed in scripture?
Didn't Paul in Romans 8:34-39, “
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation,
or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? ..... For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor
angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor
things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall
be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus
our Lord.”
What
God desires is for us to know his friendship wherever we are, so
whatever you find yourself doing now, just pray, “Lord, spend time
with me today.”
