While shopping this weekend, the thought struck me, that it is amazing how stores have cottoned on to the fact that we are all really just creatures of habit.
A huge amount of stores and even banks offer you cash back loyalty points if you shop with them regularly. Thereby cashing in on an existing human habit.
Our relationship with God is a little different though. We go to God saying, "bless me and I'll be loyal to you". The thing is, God doesn't want our loyalty, he wants our devotion.
What's the difference? Loyalty is given with an expectation of return, while devotion requires a full heart surrender without the possibility of reward.
