In a world filled with war, I wonder sometimes if we have completely lost the ability to know God's peace in the true essence of the word. Peace.....it should be worth more than gold yet we have forgotten how to prize peace or how to arrive at a peaceful state.
Many confuse peace with the calm that comes from meditation. This is not peace but simply quietness. True peace is something that can be found in the middle of the most tumultuous storm. Do you remember where the disciples found Jesus when they were in the storm? Fast asleep downstairs. Jesus must have been a real heavy sleeper :-)
How is it that Jesus managed to sleep through all the commotion? He knew where he was heading and that God would get them there. He knew Yahweh Shalom and he knew that he had nothing to fear.
Can Jesus sleep in your boat?
